EIDM offers a range of financing facilities, including the possibility of paying tuition fees (depending on the course) in 1, 3 or 6 instalments.
BPI France loans
If no-one can vouch for you, you have the option of a BPI France loan. This means that the government opens a budget envelope (in June each year) and stands surety for students.
What are the eligibility criteria?
Firstly, students must be under the age of 28. Secondly, you must be a French national or a citizen of the European Union. Finally, the degree must be from a French higher education institution.
What are the features of the loan?
Firstly, there is no personal guarantee and no means test. However, this is not the only advantageous feature of the loan:
No parental or third-party guarantee
Maximum amount: €15,000
Minimum term: 2 years.
Please note that if the budget is reached, the loan will no longer be available, even if the student is eligible.
Work experience & sandwich courses
Accessible from the 3rd year of the Bachelor’s degree, the work-study program can be carried out through an apprenticeship contract or a professionalization contract. It allows for tuition fees to be covered by the company.
Apprenticeship Contract
Apprenticeship contracts have a fixed term of 6 to 24 months, with the possibility of extension in certain cases. The duration of the training is set by agreement and may be equal to or shorter than the duration of the training cycle. The work-study schedule may vary depending on the chosen training program, for example: 3 days at school / 2 days at work, 1 day at school / 4 days at work, or 1 week at school / 3 weeks at work.
Young people aged 16 to under 29 are eligible for this contract and are paid according to their age and the number of years of apprenticeship, i.e., between 27% and 100% of the minimum wage. Training costs are covered in full or in part by the company’s OPCO (Professional Employment Agency). The amount of this support depends on several factors (length of the contract, professional sector of the host organization, etc.).
The government offers a one-time exceptional hiring aid. The decree of February 22, 2025 modifies the amount of assistance for hiring apprentices.
Thus, for apprenticeship contracts entered into on or after February 24, 2025, the maximum assistance allocated per contract is set at:
€5,000 for companies with fewer than 250 employees;
€2,000 for companies with 250 or more employees;
€6,000 for the recruitment of apprentices with disabilities. This assistance is only paid for the first year of the contract.
Professionalization Contract
The professionalization contract is an employment contract for young people under 26 years of age that allows them to gain professional experience while pursuing a qualifying or diploma-based training program. Students sign an employment contract that allows them to benefit from the same rights as company employees. The contract duration varies from 6 to 36 months, with a work-study schedule that varies depending on the chosen training program, for example: 3 days at school / 2 days at work, 1 day at school / 4 days at work, or 1 week at school / 3 weeks at work.
Training costs are partially or fully covered by the company’s OPCO (Professional Employment Insurance). The amount of this coverage depends on several factors (contract duration and OPCO coverage rate).
The work-study student is paid between 65% and 80% of the minimum wage depending on their age and the number of years of training, with the possibility of benefiting from 5 weeks of statutory paid leave per year and unpaid leave for exam preparation (up to 5 days).
Professional retraining
There are a number of organisations that can help you finance your fashion studies.

- Pôle Emploi: contact your local employment office to tell them about the fashion school course you would like to take and then put together an application with them to find out if you are eligible.
